Therapy
My goal is to get people back to being happy, fulfilled and functional as soon as possible. I believe that when most people seek therapy they are looking to make real change and want good value for their investment of time, energy and money. That’s why I adopt a brief strategic model when working with clients. I begin with a brief assessment that leads to a clear understanding of the source of my client’s difficulties. I then present a clear treatment plan based on my findings and begin working right away. Using the most current, empirically validated treatment methods I work collaboratively with my clients to bring about positive and lasting change.
My interest in psychology and helping people extends to many different areas of the field. My graduate work at the California Institute of Integral Studies focused on the integral aspect of clinical psychology. I have been trained in many theoretical orientations and interests including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic and Existential Psychology, Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT), Interpersonal Neurobiology, Narrative therapy, Systems Theory, Strategic Family Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, General Systems Theory, Complexity Theory, Neuroaffective Relational Model, Internal Family Systems, Focusing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma.
As all people are unique with their own personalities and challenges in life, I feel it is vital to have an integrated approach to therapy in order treat the whole person. My commitment and genuine love for learning keeps me abreast of the latest developments in research and empirically validated treatments.
